Your boarding pass photos could be revealing more information than you would like. Krebs on Security recently reported that hackers could be using the information printed on your boarding pass to track where you are going or cause disruptions in your travel. This included: viewing future travel, alter or cancel upcoming flights, access your frequent flyer account, view passport information. A quick search of Instagram for #boardingpass reveals over 90k posts.
Airlines are starting to implement more security features to prevent attackers from easily accessing your information. That being said, it’s best to keep your boarding pass to yourself and only worry about that delayed flight.
